Trunk Show Treasures

So this post is not technically about shopping but this stuff is so good I had to introduce you all to it!   I have just as much fun at my Stella & Dot shows as the guests! Sometimes I come away with some little nugget of goodness that I am super pumped about. This recipie is one of those Trunk Show Treasures I thought I would share. This is from my friend and Super Hostess, Nicole Burke. Enjoy!

"Hummus Layer Dip"
Entered by: Burken

A nice switch from the mexican layer dip. Super easy and very versatile!

Prep Time: 10 mins. max
Cook Time: 0 mins
Ready In:
Yields: 12 servings

1 8oz. pkg cream cheese
1tbsp. Italian Seasoning or oregano
1tbsp, lemon juice
1 10oz. container of roasted garlic hummus
1/2 cup cucumber thinly chopped (unpeeled)
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup pepperocini rings (found by banana peppers in a jar)
4oz. crumbled feta cheese
1/4 cup of chopped green onion
1/2 cup of halved, pitted kalamata olives (optional)

In a bowl combine the cream cheese with lemon juice and italian seasoning. Spread mixture in the bottom of a glass pie dish. Spread hummus on top of cream cheese layer. Sprinkle top with next 6 ingredients.  If not serving immediately refrigerate. Serve with pita chips.
You can switch this recipe up in many ways to adapt it to your taste, this is just how we like it best. Add more or less of anything you like personally. Roasted red pepper on top is also good.

Style & Stripes for the 4th! is a website I somehow stumbled across that had some super cute looks for the 4th.  I love a nautical stripe as much as the next landlocked lady and what better time to bust out your navy stripes than Independence Day.  None of these looks were over $50 and I love any of them paired with my Stella & Dot Campari Necklace!  Let me know what you thought of La Posh Style...

OK.  I am still in nesting mode so I truly enjoy this fabulous shopping site Fab.

Although I love that is is marked down stuff I appreciate even more that I can find cool original art for the Casa de Tinker for under $50.

Just today I purchased some awesome things for Will's room.  Ok, maybe I was feeling a little bit guilty that Charlie's room is so much cooler than Will's.  Or maybe I am looking at the super cool alphabet as more than art, but as a learning opportunity for Will's steel trap of a mind.  Either way, Will is getting some serious cool factor for his bedroom and bathroom!

Here is what I got:

Here are some other pieces I liked today:

Seriously cool stuff for an artsy fam like ours.  (You can't make it all yourself from things you learned on Pinterest.)

That is all for today!  I will leave you with a Go Cards!

SPOOL No. 72

So I will start with an apology.  I know I have MIA for quite some time.  One would think that with 6 months of maternity leave one could find time to blog.  One would be sadly mistaken in my case!  I don't know how it is possible to have more time for myself when I am working full time but it sure has felt that way!  Plus I am not going to lie, I have reverted back to the black sweatpants uniform.  I mean, when you never leave the house and are getting spit up on all day, what is the point?  Anyway, exciting things are coming with ShopGirls!  Stay tuned for What I Wore Wednesdays!!  (No black sweats allowed :))

Ok, here is my excuse...

Coming soon:

But today... I want to share with you a little treat I discovered on Pinterest!  If you are not on Pinterest already, let me know and I will send you an invite.  Trust me on this one.  You NEED to be pinning.

Capri Earrings

Tiers & Tulle Party Dress
This website is totally new to me and hopefully to you too.  I love the pieces, the prices, even the story!  A mom and her two daughters design and create most of the pieces available.  Check out a few beauties I think would be perfect for the track or a Spring wedding....
Zahara Bib Necklace
Alyssum Tie Dress

I really love dresses.  I have, unfortunately not figured out how to make them work as a nursing mom.  If anyone has any tips on how to wear them all summer while nursing a baby I would love to hear them.  I mean I can't really just hike the whole thing up under a hooter hider!  (Hmmm, maybe the old catholic school uniform shirt wearing boxers underneath...)

Campari Necklace
Zig Zag Falls Dress

So long for now, but I promise, I will be back soon!
